congrats to Jay so far in the 240. I just talked to floyd armel and he told me it is realllllly hot. Joe fishers car was breaking up in PWS and that is the reason for the low MPH.
1 James Jones Honda Civic EX 9.4930 153.54
Damn, that's a bit quicker than what they have been running

congrats to jimmy jones on a new personal best ET and MPH!!!
a bunch of us are going out to dinner tonight...anybody is welcome to come. 301 290 0330
today was crazy hot. ive never spun the tires so bad in 2nd gear before. skipped 2nd round due to the heat. car ran a lot better in 3rd round, but antilag still only works when it wants to and the car bogged. peice of crap.

only mustered 1 qualifying attempt, but managed to squeak in the field, learned that i need to let the car warm a little then go. i have issues to work with, but it is hooking good, i think i can leave harder actually, but after first round, get back, start the car look things over, sounds noisier than normal, i did mis shift 2-3. so i ran the valves, the way i always do with a remote start button, i know im a lazy *** flat rate tech, but the noise is even worse, WTF? the car made a decent pass, really rich plugs look good, sounds like a rod is about to come through the block.
put the car on the stands, try to rotate it around with the crank pulley, gats about 3/4 a turn and stops. ok here we go. MIR luck again. for the hell of it, roll it clockwise, ( i know i know plugs are out of it ) and it stops, well was a little easier to turn, roll it around again, a little easier to turn noise is getting quieter.
long story short, clutch cover bolt backing out. pulled the trans off, fixed it, almost died from heat exhaustion. suffered 3 leg cramps. but it runs, i was 12th after 2nd round, and tommy and a another bumped me down a spot.
thanks to everyone that helped today. dan, chuck, chad, joe and the tempest camp.
we shall see what tomorrow brings.

Thanks everyone for the congrats. I really want thank Joe Simpson for the tune up on his dyno, Jeff for the hospitality and help, and Jenny for the photos. Got to give props to Tempest Racing guys for getting it close on the dyno and tweaking it today at the track. Best et/mph before was a 10.21@137. Now we need some boost control and go from there.
Also I would like to congratulate Tex on a personal best also:
Michael Blackwell Jr. Honda Civic 9.250 164.37
It has been good to watch him and his team get it down the track.
Congrats to everyone and good luck tomorrow.
