Default Broken Motor Mount.. A lesson learned

Ok so i knew my front motor mount was a little broken, and was just waiting it out till i get it fixed..

NOT A GOOD THING TO DO!!!

Since there was so much movement on the tranny

it snapped the bolt off that holds on the shiftlinkage to the tranny

so im currently working on getting that tapped out.

the passanger side axLe boot ripped..

It was going to be an easy fix.

but since the bolts on my exhaust manifold are stripped. i have to cut the whole thing off, lucky i have an extra exhaust manifold and little down pipe.

the reason i have to cut that to pieces cuz it wont come off, and i cant tap the bolt cuz i cant get the drill straight and dont wanna jack p the threading...

BLAH@!!

dont drive on a messed up MM

I didn't have a front motor mount for about 6 months, and m any people can't even run them due to clearance issues. You shouldn't be breaking that much **** just because of the front tranny mount...

i dont think i would run no front motor mount without aftermarket mounts, or filled stock ones.. the factory motor mounts are not made so much for strength as they are vibration damping.

THERE HAD TO BE MORE TO IT THEN JUST THE FRONT MOUNT

my front mount was torn apart and I drove the car daily for almost a year with no problems before I changed the tranny and put another one on

All my mounts are good except the front one. and i get tons of movement. like the damn motor wants to jump out the engine bay.

its only a b16a, i know the "torquesless wonder"

but i get a lot of movement on the motor due to the front MM all messed up.

i went through and checked all my mounts when i swapped in the tranny, so i know the rest of them are all in good shape.

its a 89' civic si
with jdm b16a and jdm s1 tranny

this was an old school swap and i guess they

used LS mounts and brackets

i guess thats the way they use to do it back before people made kits for them.
thats what eugine from Prostreetimports told me.

i have no idea..

i know they have kits for them now.

but as for me, they welded in custom brackets for the mounts.. so it kinda screws me with using any after market MM.

i have a place racing front motor mount and it dont fit..

sucks..

so the mount is drying nicely..

and i used a bolt extractor to take out the broken bolt from the tranny.

and i rebuilt my axle.. all looks good to go as soon as the MM completely drys..

wish my poor little car luck.
