I have a 99 Ex with cai and exhaust, stock clutch on 15's gsr's with kumho's.

I know its not good at all, but...
I only plan on doing launches like this (5500-6000 rpm) at the strip, which I will visit rarely (like 2 or 3 times a year). The first time I went to the track, I got bad times, because i was launching at like 4000-4500. The main reason was because I dont have the money to be replacing clutches and ****. I was worried I would break something. As of know, I my car has 30,000 miles on it and my clutch is in perfect working condition.

But I am going back to the track soon and was wonderin if its ok for a few times to do this. I DO know its not gonna last forever with constant launches like this, but will it hold up and be ok for the occasional drag strip visits. On the street, I drive it sensibly and normal.

Let me know what u think. I need to get them 2.2-2.3 60ft times!

 

I think you should im VTC_Civic about this. I believe he launches at rpm's around there, or at least he did before boost.

 

I launched about a total of 30 times at 6K+ and I broke my diferential. Quaife here I come!

 

For track duties, I'd launch around 5k and slip the clutch out before boost. The clutch was getting pretty tired at 85k miles when I went to ACT, but it held up.

 

7400 rpm launches with 75 shot of juice on slicks with STOCK 90,000 mile clutch,

got a best of 1.85 60 foot with it.

BTW it only slipped on 3-4 powershift while spraying.
