Default VSS problem

What would cause a VSS to only make the speedo move in reverse? This is killing me.

LOL. How does it do that with the stop pin preventing it from doing it?

Good question. Not that it matters, but this is an h22 tranny.

Problem found :
The drive gear on the diff that drives the vss was not pressed on, and was just free moving, so the diff is turning but the drive gear is staying still. Looks like new tranny for free for me.
