i got pulled once for racing, we were all coming back from drag racing and we were following each other (caravaning)..cop thought we were racing, i tried to tell him that we all know each other and we are just following each other. so i got it dropped to careless and reckless.. man that hurt me.. it kinda sux u know, go racing legally for a day, then get pulled for racing...

 

I posted this thread up for those who think their BIG BAD R's are the fastest most greatest cars on Earth, ya kn w those weeny little riceboys who have to try everyone and everything on the street which might pose a threat to their all mighty fast Typa R/Civic/whatever.

I'm sure our Florida congressman will try to pass this on to Congress and this should have no problem signing into a national law.

I also posted this to let everyone know WHO STREET RACES, that the higher ups are sick of STREET RACING, and the penalties are SEVERE. I'm sure they will throw the book at you on your first offense.

I pray that this wont happen in CA. Why? I have been pulled over at least 4 times for "racing." You know racing at 3am (on my way home to sleep) with no other cars on the road! lol
I have been arrested, etc... before for this. I have also won every case since it was pure harrasement. The cops could not provide the other car, however they were able to provide a list of parts on my car that they said were "stolen!" However whats funny is that I had all receipts for my "stolen goods" and I also had the shops who I got them from testify that they were mine!!!!!
COPS CAN KISS MY ***!!!!!! As with the two officers who lost their badges for 2yrs because of this and other incidents of this crap.
If this law goes into effect it gives any cop the ability to arrest you on the spot and inpound your car. How would you like it if you were just driving your R around, etc... and got pulled over. Then the cop says you were racing (stereotype with a car that says type R all over it) and arrests you on the spot and takes your car. You then argue and ask where the other car is. Then the officer tells the court that he got away since he was faster. Theirfore your FUCKED!!!!!! To agree by this law is BS. You might say "hey I don't race on the streets, etc..." Yeah sure, tell that to the cop who hates import racers, etc... OUR CARS WILL BE THE ULTIMATE VICTEM OF THIS LAW SINCE OUR CAR YELLS "RACE CAR" ALL OVER IT!!!!!!!
Glad I left Florida a long time ago. However I know CA will be the next state to follow with this.

Sorry that I posted that, but it pisses me off. Ask anyone who knows me and they will say that I HATE streetracers! Heck streetracers hate me because all I do is talk about how much of losers and idiots they are. HOWEVER I seem to get harassed all the time. Not just some of the time, all of the time. Yet I do nothing. I've been arressted, fined, etc... and have taken them to court and won. They have tried to fake reports with me, they have handcuffed me to finger print me on spot to hold me for 3hrs!!!! To then let me go and tell me that its a learning lesson!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This is why I don't drive my R anymore. Screw theft, its about the ******* redneck cops who like to **** with import drivers. Do I see them bust american cars? Hell no. Even friends with american cars say they get away with everything and that imports get it the worse. Thanks Fast and Furious! Anyway please don't try to lecture me and say cops are just doing their jobs because they arn't. They are sitting at home on leave of absence because I took their ******* badge away for 2yrs because of this bullshit!

I believe California has a law similar to this: I remember seeing it somewhere, basically it said if a cop pulled you over whether you were racing or not, they could give you a citation saying your car isn't stock and you have 10 days or so to return it back to stock and verify with an official third party, plus you get fined and other things..

Don't quote me exactly on this but I did see it somewhere..

Oh yeah smog ref check. Been their done that. They also like to bust you for a moving violation also. How about a illegal lane change. Or how about illegal u turn on a 2 lane road!!!!! WTF!!!!

I think this law should only work if they provide proof of racing and or some type of real evidence rather then just hearsay from a cop.

I'm just glad that our here in CA we have enough liberals which will make sure that this wouldn't get passed. However we do have a lot of pissed off mayors who HATE streetracers. Oh well looks like my attorneys could be a lot richer now if the liberals here in CA get over thrown.

A law like this looks good on paper, but you know damn well that street races always have, and will now more than ever try to outrun cops, if this was to go in effect, making everything more hectic.

Anyone who drives an import that looks modified will be @ risk (GA cops are getting bad about harrassing imports now). For the person that said good, maybe idiot's will be taken off the road. I wonder what happens if you are just driving along minding your own business and some ricer pulls up next to you and starts reving. You wave him by and even slow down but a cop sees this happen and takes both of you to jail and impounds your car. A Cop can say yeah this guy was reving @ the other (You) but I stopped them before they could endanger lives o nthe road.

Now you have ride the bus because they take your license and pay fines @ the wazoo, all so they can take some "idiots" off the street. I have been caught in a similar scenario. Once it happens to you, then you will realize we are all targets and we are all @ risk.

The way I understand it, driving laws are mostly handled by the states...not the federal govt.......Congress has almost no jurisdiction over the individual driving laws in each state. Each state would have to individually add racing laws like this to their books....the fed govt can't force the issue.

I had the same thing happen to me except I was fortunate enough to get out of it. I was going 35mph in a 40mph zone and he pulled me over and tried to say I was racing. He then called for backup which was probably where he made his mistake because when his backup arrived it was his Seargeant on duty. Once he showed up I refused to talk to the rookie and settled it with the Seargeant. He was much more reasonable and let me go.
