I have a crx with a b16a2 and i have been running really rich since i put this swap in but i used to have an a1 so the throttle body bolted right up and everything and we just used that one... well i took of the intake manifold the other day and was baffled by what i saw.. where my first injector would be was black as can be and the others werent nearly as bad... is this normal or do i have a malfunction? And anybody have any ideas why i would be running this rich... thanks.
pull out your injectors, but leave them in the fuel rail (gotta manuever a little bit). Lay a thick or folded towel over your valve cover and anything else you don't want to get gas on. Point the injectors/fuel raill AWAY FROM THE CAR, like towards the front, of course making sure there isn't anything in front of the car that would be damaged from gas. Have a friend turn the key to the ON position, BUT DO NOT START IT!! While he/she does that, watch the injectors and see if they are spraying equally. After they shut off see if any are leaking alot. They will drip a little, but not TOO much. If there is one (the one that you say left the carbon on the manifold) then it probably is a bad injector. You can also test the OHM's on it. Don't know what they are supposed to be at, but they should all be within a decent range from each other, kinda like doing a compression test; you don't want one that is way off in never land ranch...

or if you have a fuel pressure gauge, just prime the system so you have pressure in the line and connect a AA battery to the injector...do this for each of the injectors and see if one drops pressure faster or slower than the others...
be advised that you are flooding the engine, so if you do this a bunch of times it will be hard to start.
