For some time my car had some idle problems and throwwing some codes like the 0441. I got most of my issues cleared up by taking out my vafc fixing the hack job that was done and runs real good. I have about 100k and mostly stock. Stock header cat and exhaust. I still notice the black soot on my rear bumper even if I drive a few minutes. So yesterday I had the car idleing and noticed that out of the exhaust the flow seemed really low and on my hand was some residue just from idleing. Iam not sure is my cat clogged up or am I not burning all my fuel.

Definately sounds like your vtech solenoids are going bad man. PM RTW DC2R for a good deal on jasma ported vtech solenoids. The new version 4.0 just came out.

 

I just replaced the solenoid and adjusted the fuel regulator and still hs that black soot even when its just idleing
