I did the integrated clear coat upgrade or whatever and it was ~$400. Has pinholes in it. Have wished I would have spent more on a better paint job from the day I got it back.

That sucks, I am the painter in the one in Ocala FL. If there are any pinholes or other flaws I ship it back out to the body guys to fix it. I refuse to paint something that isn't done right.

If you give them a totally prepped car thats 100% smooth and ready to paint they can do a single stage enamel for under $300 and it will look great.
Dont let them dupe you into upgrading the paint service, its the same enamel paint they just up the warranty, unless you upgrade to urethane paint which gets expensive, and the top $1000 Signature job is a full urethane base/clear. Ive seen and had all levels of Maaco jobs done and in my opinion, prep the car yourself and get the cheapest one, the jobs that cost 2 or 3 times as much wont look 2 or 3 times as good, they'll just have 2 or 3 times the warranty....
Heres my most recent Maaco paint job:

There was a rare (91 only) third gen prelude that came with everything painted on the ALB or 4WS models.... I used to not like the trim painted either but after I picked up a all-white 91 Lude ALB with matching white wheels, I became a fan of everything painted.
But I like it not painted too if they are all nice and black and dont look like ****....

They wanted $2200 for the body work on my car and its just little door dings. And the 2200 didnt even cover paint.</TD></TR></TABLE>
Find another Maaco. Most of them will tell you $20-$25 per ding but Ive been quoted by one in a expensive neighborhood that it will cost $400 per panel to remove dings!
I wanted to call that guy a stupid ******* to his face so bad but I didnt... It quickly became apparent he thought I was a sucker so I just went to another one a few miles away....
In the end I bought a $40 sander from walmart and have become somewhat competent at removing my own dings, that was a few years ago and Ive sanded quite a few cars with it and filled dozens of dings and patched rust etc.... Just get a sander and a can of bondo and follow the instructions on the can anybody can learn to do it, its not like a special talent is needed for it or anything, smear bondo in the ding then sand it till its smooth and no more ding. easy. I used to look at a car with dings and say oh **** how the expletive am i gonna fix this thing, but after a few cars i just look at a project and say OK im gonna try to bang this out in one afternoon real quick.... DIY FTW bro
