My friend recently had a GSR motor swapped into his civic now all of his gauges don't work except for the gas. Would he need a new gauge bezel or could it be that the people who did his swap did something wrong? Anyone know?
check and make sure the VSS is hooked up, and see if they hacked up the wires going to the distributer and so on....if the motor is obd2 it should just drop right in, and the only wiring that would have to be done is for VTEC solenoid, pressure switch, knock sensor, and the butterflies....which if it is an EX trim, you wouldn't even have to most of that wiring. It's possible that they used and obd1 motor and hacked up the wiring to make it work...
I would check through all of the wiring on the engine harness and go from there.

If it worked before, I highly doubt it. Anything is possible, but I would just take a look at the wiring before taking the dash apart. You will be able to tell if the wiring is hacked or not.
