Default Killing time...gauge pod

I'm sure this has been done, but I was bored at work today and had a broken EK dash panel laying around (the one that goes under the radio and holds the cig lighter) and decided to see how this would look. I didn't take any pics of the whole process cause well.....i didn't. The ones I did take I took with a cheap *** phone.

I took a mold of the recessed area and used some gauge retaining bucket things that come with gauges and used some backstrap to position them. Then I stretched some fleece over the whole contraption and spread resin over the fleece. Then I cut out the holes and did some sanding. It still needs a finish smoothing coat and some kind of covering....either vinyl or textured paint if I even finish it.....not sure, cause I'm not planning on putting any gauges in my car, lol. Here's a couple of pics anyway. It fits better than it looks like it does, but as previously stated, the camera on my phone sucks!!

and one of my lazy *** cat snoozing on the couch.

Thanks....one thing I really didn't check is cupholder clearance, is it an issue with yours? I don' think it would be if I were to actually use it, but I didn't check since I pretty much just built it off of the piece I had laying in the garage.
