Default Rust on brand new turbo! need help!

Hey guys I am in the process of installing my turbo kit. It is a full race turbo kit with a garrett turbo. Anyway I started it then took like a week off went back to it today and here is my problem.

I have the turbo mounted on the manifold. I never put on the downpipe. I came out today and there is all surface rust on the exhaust turbine part. It is all surface rust on the outside and going into the inside. If you spin the wheel it doesnt hit any of it and the rust went right up to where the wheel is.

If you rub it with your hand it comes right off but is this going to be a problem? The turbo is brand new never used. Can I spray like oil or something in there to clean it out? Please let me know thanks!

Its fine, you can spray or brush it down but its not going to cause an issue.

Just unbolt the exhaust housing from the turbo and take a wire wheel to it. Once all clean spray some high temp clear or black spray paint on it. I used cheap stove paint on mine and is holding up just fine. Or you could be baller and have it coated.

Im not talking about the outside. I mean the inside where the turbine wheel is. I would assume you cant paint that but what do I know.

Is it still okay?
