my engine pictures




i don't have engine code... plz help..

p.s. sory i from LATVIJA i have bad english language.. :/

 

looks like a 86-87 D16A1 to me - number should be on the back of the block next to the starter like this:



was that a swap or did it come that way? i would be interested in seeing closer pictures of the engine mount on the timing belt end

Sure. It does look like a D16A1 ir ZC engine though. Look on the back of the block near the starter like jlicrx said, it's probably not stamped on the front like in the other picture you have.

I'm guessing that the box in the yellow oval is part of the vaccuum advance system?

 

in the box are the MAP sensor, purge cut-off solenoid, etc. - i wanted to see pictures of the mount on the driver's side because it looks like that is the mount that would be needed to install the D16A1 into our 88-91 cars - we have to fabricate a mount like that in order to get it to work

 

i have very hight CO level... 6,... and i think better change engine than fix this... horse eye :D

Usually those engines will go for $1000-$1500 US for a full swap, no idea what they'd cost in Latvia. You could get any engine from any trim level EF, the B16A's came standard in the VTi models. You also could swap in a D16A8/9. Try your local junkyards or eBay.
