Try this first, if it doesn't fix it, try cleaning the FITV.

Pull the carpet back from the passenger side floor board. There will be a big gold bracket that protects the ECU. On that bracket, there will be a clear lens, like a peep hole. From there, a light will be flashing if there is a problem with something electrically. If there is a light flashing, read the flashes. For each LONGER blink will be multiples of 10. The shorter blinks indicate 1's. After a long pause, it will either throw a different code, or redo the same code. Write down the number of the code and look it up.

For example: two long blinks and then one short blink will indicate a code 21, vtec solenoid/spool valve.

I think on non obd it is only short blinks, if it is obd1+ it will have the 10s and ones blinks.

Did I say it would give you bad gas mileage?

The title of this thread is "idle problems"

When I went from DPFI to MPFI I was so excited that it started I forgot to put the coolant back in. I took it for a spin around the block and every time I stopped the idle was surging.

I checked a bunch of other crap before I realized I had forgot to put the coolant back in.

Make sure that you don't have any vacuum leaks or loose vacuum hoses, especially by the intake manifold. Check the TPS with an ohmmeter. You might be able to find Specs somewhere in here.
