Checking out B18B

I'm about to buy a b18b and I'm wondering what to check to make sure the engine is in good condition

Do a leakdown test and a compression test to determine the general health of the motor.

How can I do that exactly?

The engine isn't running in a car now so..

easiest way if it isn't in a car is to take it to a shop and have a leak down done.
