Check to see how your VSS (vehicle speed sensor) is doing.
It's the big sensor on the top of the tranny towards the rear with the 10mm bolt through it.

Bad ground on your gauge cluster, or bad VSS. Iff you have a friend with a similar car, ask him to swap clusters with you can take a trip around town for a while. If it stops, its your GC, if not then definatley look at your VSS.
