ok guys i juss bought an 01 sh and got it on the road yesterday but when ever im driving slow....well speed limit...it tends to make a weird noise almost like chains dragging the ground when ever i shift at low speeds but goes away after i hit over 3k rpm....n e one kno?

could the chain sound be a weird rattle, check your exhaust system for lots of rust, broken hangers, heat shieds, etc.. i had a heat sheid once sound very strange thats why im throwing that out there.

 

yea i have all aftermarket exhaust headers etc. and the exhaust has a leak in it after the catalytic converter so u think thats it?

 

ya at the dealership ive heard some very loud leaks. CHeck that, but what i ment was that there was two peices of something underthere rubbing into each other causeing a rattle. Check to make sure nothing is hitting anywhere.

Guess I'll just add to this thread since it's along the same lines.

On my '98, once I hit 30-ish mph I start to hear a low hum. It'll actually get louder than the engine around 40-50mph. It almost sounds like if I had a louder muffler on the car (I have stock) but when I let off the gas, the sound doesn't change.

I'm thinking it's a bad bearing? Am I thinking in the right direction, or could it be something else?
