Default new tranny making loud whinding noise??

just got a new jdm tranny put in my 92 hatch its a 5 speed and 1st gear sounds like reverse its really loud and clunky, it only happens when you let off of the throttle, 2nd does it to and 3rd a little but it slowly dissapates from 1st, 1st is really loud, can anyone help me?? could it be the lsd or half shafts??

i bought the car for 200 bucks with a really messed up tranny made all sorts of weird nosises and wouldnt shift into any gears, i had a mechanic put in a new tranny and clutch but didnt replace the lsd or half shafts so were im getting at is if you blow a tranny does the lsd go out to or the half shafts..

I had a transmission that actually did the same thing. Usually that is the first sign of an input shaft bearing going out...but it could actually be a number of things.

Mine finally seized the input shaft bearing at 9,500rpms, bent the input shaft and broke the shift fork...but that is a worst case scenario obviously. It was behind a 400whp turbo motor, and spun over 9k rpm quite frequently...so that obviously played a factor in its early death.

Just baby it and i'm sure you can get a lot of life out of it provided you change the fluid religiously and only use Honda MTF.
