i just put in a new oem intake manifold gasket. no problems installing it i took out the coolent hose and what i think is the vacuum line. now it idles high at 5k and when i turn the car off white smoke comes out of the manifold. (doesn't . smell good).

i put the coolent hose back on after taking it off. and put the hose that goes into the black box (vaccuum hose i think) back in. re tightened all the nuts. anyone ever have this problem before ?

Sounds like there's coolant getting in your manifold because you did a sub-par job of replacing the gasket. It also seems as if there's a large gap somewhere that's letting a shitload of air in - hence the ridiculously high idle.
