Y80 Problems
a little more specific. 1-5 gears catch but when i attempt to put into reverse it feels like it wants to catch but instead grinds. its kinda odd beacause this has happened before and the next day i went to put it in reverse and it caught but now it just kinda wants to get in but grinds..its trippy...some good tips would be reallly helpful. thanks.

There are no syncros in reverse.

That's exactly the reason it's doing what it's doing.
There's no syncros in reverse, so it has to be lined up perfectly or it won't go in - then when you try to force it in it will grind.
THE FIX
Put the shifter into 4th (while at a complete stop) and then put it into reverse. You don't need to engage the clutch, just when you're going to go into reverse, push the clutch, put it into 4th, then reverse, then go back. It's a very common issue, it's not a problem with the transmission (most (all the ones I've seen) manual transmissions don't have syncros in reverse), and there's nothing you can do about it.
Just one of the things you gotta deal with with a manual tranny - if it's popping out that's an ENTIRELY different ball game.
