i have a 94 civic coupe. my i start my car the light doesnt come on.. i have to drive the car till it warms up all the way then the CHECK ENGINE comes on.. does any1 know what the problem is?? when i shut the car off the light doesnt come on again till it warms up to its highest point....

have you checked to see what codes it throwing? That would be the first thing to check and would help everyone in diagnosing

 

its most likely the o2 sensor, though it could be egr also, read the codes.

 

get the code and let us know so we can help more

 

it flashes once and then stops what could that be??? thanks guys

 

look at the top of this forum list and see where it says CEL codes and click on it...tell you all about CEL's and what they are.

you only have one O2 sensor, it is located before the cat.

it just needs replacing, pretty easy to swap out, especially if you get the one with the harness specific for you car.

I am currently faceing the same problem w/ my 95 civic coupe. when it hits idleing tempeture the check engine soon light comes on. Somtimes its hard to start when it's already warmed up but i have no problem when it sits for awhile... I was wondering if yours, somtimes was hard to start? I tried to use a jumper wire on the ecm to see how many times the light would blink. But the engine light will not come on until the engine idles........ HELPPPPPPPPPPP

 

i have the same problem but its not the oxygen sensor its a MAP sensor but i changed it like 2 times new ones to 1 from autozone and 1 from Honda so it still does it after it warms up or i drive pass 60mph...
