Default My Dyno Results

My list of mods can be found at my cardomain:
http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2387371

Pretty much though it was Intake, IM, Exhaust, and Flywheel that made my power. I've got injectors and a fuel setup, but they're still set at pretty much stock cc's.

Dynoded: 182.62whp and 163.76wtq

Im working on getting my dyno sheet up, but I lent out my camera and I broke my cell phone a week ago. Its a few months old and kinda torn, but I'll get a pic up soon of my graph.

These results are tuned btw

without a graph, this thread is pointless.

and we have a dyno thread.

I wish he would have titled it better.

I was wondering how the thing made 162.x wtq with such minor mods, I really want to know what the tq band looks like.

wow! Those are really good numbers for what the mods you have.

Maybe if you can get a better tune, then the curve would be even better!

That is still a lot of tq for stock cams...

There are freak engines but that is a waaay noticeable jump over stock...

Bone stock I only make about 140 ft lbs...

take your car to the track and see what the MPH is. That will really test how healthy and strong the engine is.

In my years of learning, i have learned that dyno graphs dont mean **** without some times to back them.

I agree with you for once. 3rd is just fine. 4th rapps it out quite a bit.

But 4th is closer to a 1:1 ratio in the tranny so you get a more accurate reading.

at least that what I've been lead to believe makes sense as well.

Okay that 1:1 gearing Bullshit has got to go. Think about the gearbox, there's 5 forward gears which you can select. Regardless of of your selection it still goes through a thing called a "Final Drive" that gears down the engine RPM even further. While driving you have no choice about what the gear ratio on the final drive is, instead you can select 5 other gears. Your arguement that 4th is closer to a one-to-one ratio is false. You and others like you are wrong becasue you don't take the final drive into account.

Most Prelude 3rd gears are around 1.360 ratio.

Most Prelude 4th gears are around 1.071 ratio.

Most Prelude 5th gears around .870 ratio.

All Prelude Final Drives are 4.267ratio.

Third gear ratio with final drive:
1.360 * 4.2667
= 5.802712

Fourth gear ratio with final drive:
1.071 * 4.2667
= 4.5696357

Fifth gear ratio with final drive:
.870 * 4.2667
= 3.712029

The numbers in blue divide the engine RPM by that value. So in your 4th gear example for one rotation of the wheel your crankshaft rotates more than four and a half times. Definately NOT a one to one ratio.

To more closely approximate your one-to-one ratio in Prelude gearboxes you'd need to dyno in a gear that has a ratio of 0.234 which is only 75% taller than your 4th gear theory. So when you have a little time please use a little applied logic and rudimentary math to understand what you're stating otherwise at least ammend your statement to insist that 5th gear is as close to 1:1 as you'll get and that's the gear you should dyno in if that's the ratio you're trying to achieve.

lol thanks pirate, I was hoping someone would eventually confirm my suspicion that the 1:1 theory was BS.

Each dyno has its own reasons for reading higher in one gear versus another, solely based on how they measure torque.

The gearing theory is easy to test anyway. Do a pull in one gear, then do another right after it in a different gear without changing anything. I have done this and basically no difference.

Weird numbers.....something up with that Dyno.
Would be lucky to see 145tq on the Dyno I made 156tq.
I was trapping at 100mph so I know my power is there

Im not trying to be a hater....Just sharing my own experience.
i/h/e H22=173whp-178whp and 135tq-145tq.

People need to stop comparing them.

That and accept the fact that just because their prelude didnt dyno that, doesnt mean mine cant.

Dyno is just fine, it dynos PLENTY of cars in our area that make what they're estimated to. No photoshopping, or dyno trickery involved.
