Default brown smoke.

i searched for this with no luck.
i think i read a wile ago that brown smoke is running lean. i just want to make sure. i just did a sohc zc swap and the only smoke i get is brown, no oil at all.

I know in carbureted cars, if your jets are way too small, it CAN smoke brown. So I'd say you're probably on the right track with the Lean assumption.

But you know what happens when you assume.

its only smoking brown at wot at high rpms i read it can be loose rust and/or carbon build up.

only blows brown smoke no other colour is coming out of my tail pipe lol.

running rich is black smoke.

car runs perfect otherwise. idles nice.

im sure it cant be a big difference, and maybe the price of synthetic makes up for the saved money on gas, well nvm because synthetic gives an engine longer life also , so tehy say.

its not like huge or anything just by switching. but like 2-3 for me highway. its better on your engine so why not use it? its spendy yeah but imho its worth it

iv been told by a mechanic that if your engine burns oil dont use synthetic, it will make it burn even faster.

before my swap i would have to fill up my oil and top up my gas

wait why would you have to top off your oil in your motor your swapping out?

because the engine had to last till i had time to swap it. i dont think i changed my oil filter for at least 6 months.
