92 LX 4 door - 2003 D17 vtec
k so i got a mint 92 LX for pretty much nothing...
and i just picked up a D17 vtec engine , tranny, ecu, wiring and axles, for cheap from a 2003 civic
what will i need to make it work?
AFAIK the d17 computer needs a coded key to read to disable the anti-start if the wrong key is used. how do overcome that , and will the d17 wiring harness clip into my body harness??
if im not mistaken this engine is also coil on plug

yeah but everyone and their grandmother has a d15b.... i like unique
what i found out is that i can use my stock wiring harness, get my hands on a p28. pop the plug on the side of the head and convert it to a distributer system . so i got a d17a vtec with a dizzy

not worth it, D17s use cable shifter, and a diff wiring system, for example, the ignition is part of the wiring harness.. there is no distributor. Their sluggish too. I womp my friends with my d15b all the time. Plus i dont think they would mount in without some fabrication.
All that trouble for a 1.7L VTEC-E motor that lays down a nice 17 sec 1/4 mile?
