Oil Pressure Switch SMOKING!
Okay I finally figure out why my engine is steaming from top of the intake manifold. And now Can Someone show me how to install a Oil Pressure Switch on the back of the engine?
Remove oil filter.
Remove connector for oil pressure switch.
Remove old pressure switch.
Install new pressure switch.
What are you trying to do?

Doh! Thinking of the knock sensor.

There really is no harness. It's a ring terminal from the engine harness. The oil switch is ground sensing. i.e. when the oil pressure drops below a set level (IIRC 7 PSI), the switch goes to ground, and the oil light comes on. So even if the sensor shorted out, it wouldn't cause an electrical issue. If it's smoking, it's more than likely not from the electrical side of things, unless something is wired very, very wrong!

Are you sure its the oil pressure switch that is smoking? Its more likely that the pressure switch, the oil filter, or the oil cooler/heater is dripping oil down onto the hot exhaust = instant smoke. If this is the case then figure out which one is leaking the oil and fix it.

Hey, well i have had the same thing going on with my lude for quite a while. Originally it was just smoke, or rather steam, that was given off from around the sensor but now its really starting to leak a lot of oil, so im guessing that it must have burnt a rubber seal in the area or sumething. I dont really have the right terrain/location to get under the car to check exactly where the leak is comming from but its definately in between the sensor and the oil filter mount. So if you do figure out what it was and what needed to be done to fix it, then i might have to give it a go cause i got more oil lying outside of the sump than inside the sump, well almost.
yea...thats wat it looks like, the oil stains are dripping vertically, and you can see any oil about the filter in the pic... gags prolly have is right; that its a oil cooler o-ring...
Its not my oil cooler or oil dripping on the exhaust, thats just a pic to show you people where the oil pressure switch is. But the steam is coming from top of my intake manifold. Its ATLEAST my INTAKE Manifold GASKET, or my oil pressure switch!?
confirm your leak.
The block is not hot enough to make the oil smoke. The exhaust, however, is. I would imagine that wherever you are leaking oil is dripping onto the exhaust and the smoke is rising as physics said it should.
