OK so I have a question: I was talking to a buddy at work today and he offered me the rear control arms off of his ’96 Acura Integra. He told me that they would fit on my ’88 CRX Si. Does anyone know if this is a possible, and positive swap? What are the benefits of this swap? Im new to car building, and any help would be vastly appreciated.
BTW, here is the first picture of my new ride! After driving a ’99 accord 5spd for 4 years, this car is a breath of fresh air!

Yes it will work. Just use the rear trailing arms. The advantage would be that you can run rear disc. If you are going from drums to disc, you will need DA or EF Disc brake e-brake cables.

at the crx. Original paint? Looks great for its age. <TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by garageEF »</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">the integra lower control arms will not work. they are for fork type struts and 88 crx's have box style LCA's.</TD></TR></TABLE>
You could use Integra lower control arms, but you'd also have to replace the rear shocks with the fork type. If you decide to go rear disks, the Integra RTA's/brakes would work, but you'd get a slightly wider stance due to different suspension geometry.
As for the fronts, Integra hubs/spindles would also work, but you'd get some natural positive camber (good for lowered cars) again from different suspension geometry. the EG armrest will also work with a bit of ingenuity and shaping
. DA/DC shocks/springs will also work (what I was running previously), and if the CRX is a winter beater I'd highly recommend it. The car gets a 4x4 stance with more aggressive spring rates...great for clearing snow banks
. Good luck!

Thanks for the advice guys!
And yes, its rusted.
I have patch panels on their way to me right now.
The paint is factory nighthawk, but its been resprayed. Original owner was a retired lamborghini salesman from florida. He moved to the mountains of North Carolina and bought this car. It stayed there all 141,000 miles of its life until I picked it up. It came with all the receipts back to ’88 and some other cool goodies like Jackson Racing and Lightning performance catalogs from that era.
The car came with JR headers, exhaust, and Bassani muffler. Also intake and short shifter, but I cant really tell its a short shifter at all!
