EDIT: Most pix are of preludes with the pillar also painted, i'm only doing my roof, anyone have any pix of that? Thnx.

LOL! That made me laugh.
I'm all for the Panda look. I say do the pillars as well.

I wanted to do the same thing to my 92 Si. I think it will look good. I also highly recommend the 5th gen. glass sunroof swap. Very easy to install and not much heavier than the crappy rust out metal roof.Let me know if ya want to do this swap, I can tell you how easy it is!!!
Dude that was exactly what i wanted to do, but i can't find the 5th gen sunroof anywhere.
i went to the Honda dealership and they want an arm and a leg for it.
Anyways if you can tell me the steps to doing the swap it'd be great. I'm gonna check out a scrapyard see if i can salvage anything.

all you need is the glass, the brackets that hold it to the sliders, and a few washers or shims. the reason I say you need the shims is because the glass sits higher than the metal roof does. You can do it another way that was posted somewhere else , but I did not want to use the existing brackets. You can do it either way you like though. I love mine!!!
I wont be doing tyhe full 2 tone look, with the painted pillars, just the roof.
What am i doing exactly with all those pieces lol. If anyone has the link to the DIY prelude roof it'd be great, i tried ssearching but no luck.

it is simple, remove your interior panel first. then you will take the 8 10mm nuts out that are holding the metal panel to the brackets. then remove the brackets, they are held on with phillips head screws. you will then put the 97 up brackets in the place of the old ones. then bolt the glass to the new brackets. after you close the roof, you will see that the glass sits higher than the old one did. you will need to have the entire headliner out so you can see the 10mm bolts that are holding the assembly to the roof. depending on your particular car, you will add shims or washers to these bolts. on mine, the front 4 bolts needed about 3 washers each. again, your results may be different. all you are doing is lowering the whole assembly down to make the glass flush. the only link I have seen gives instructions on drilling your existing brackets. using the newer brackets just means you do not have to do any drilling.oh yeah, one more thing is you have to grind off 2 tabs that are on each side of the glass panel. very easy man!!! do it!!
