Default b18c in a crx si

MAP sensor is now in two places, throttle body AND firewall. (only firewall connected right now though)
I'm using my rywire modified CRX engine harness, so there is no MAP sensor plug on my harness.

My MAP sensor is still connected at the firewall, but should I disconnect it and connect it to the GSR throttle body? or just leave it where it's at. Advantages/disadvantages?

BTW, what does a MAP sensor do?

"A manifold absolute pressure sensor (MAP) is one of the sensors used in an internal combustion engine's electronic control system. Engines that use a MAP sensor are typically fuel injected. The manifold absolute pressure sensor provides instantaneous manifold pressure information to the engine's electronic control unit (ECU). This is necessary to calculate air density and determine the engine's air mass flow rate, which in turn is used to calculate the appropriate fuel flow."

i'm in the same situation right now as well. waiting for the disadvantages and advantages answer. my guess would be to extend the wires and plug it into the map sensor on the throttle body. you could then get rid of the one on the firewall. need someone with the knowledge to chime in on this one.

just use the one thats at the firewall.....that plug itself should already be running back to your ecu..jus make sure all your vacuum lines are good

Yeah the map sensor is kinda impotant. no Map=no go.

understood, but keep it on the firewall and modify nothing. Or disconnect from firewall, extend wires, and connect to throttle body?

do that, it'll clean up your engine bay. you wont have the clutter on the firewall, and you wont have a TB that looks 'incomplete'.

the plug will plug into either. they both work the same, but i think the TB mounted is cleaner.
