Hey guys, one of my climate control bulbs burned out, the blue on the cold/hot part of the temperature selector doesn't light up at night. I searched, but I still have a question left. Does the bulb that lights up that whole part also light up the actual selector? The **** that you slide, because the **** doesn't light up either. I'm wondering if I need to get a new **** also.
And, I haven't found any pictures of where the actual bulbs are in the climate control system. Do I have to take the entire thing apart, take off the *****, or what? Does anyone have a pic of it? I found plenty of pictures on how to remove the system, but not change the actual bulbs.
Thanks

the **** is fine. it's all clear plastic behind it so light comes from the same bulb. leave the ***** on.
there are two phillips screws. one behind the hazard button, the other behind the defrost button. unplug them and remove the screws.
next find the cable that switches your climate between cold/hot. look underneath your dash to the left of the glovebox while sliding the selector back and forth between cold/hot you can't miss it. unclip the cable. the end of it should be a loop so just slide it off.
now you can pull the whole climate control straight out 'til there's enough room to fit your hand behind it and unplug all the plugs. once you have it out, find the two green pill sized discs. they should have a positive/negative with a slit down the middle. use a flathead to turn it a quarter way counter clockwise. there is your bulb
hope this helps
now has anyone ever seen a jdm climate control that displays numbers and a fan symbol instead of the blue and red? also is an electrical switch whereas the usdm is mechanical using a cable

There are four. As you notice already, there are two levels; one level has the buttons and the other level has the sliders. Two bulbs light up the buttons and the other two bulbs light up the sliders. If only one is out, you can purchase just one bulb.
I'm also betting that the bulb lights up the cold/hot portion as well as the slit on the slider. It makes sense to me.

Where can i buy the bulb other than the dealership?
I removed mine and seem to be one piece with the plastic back (i broke one already trying to remove it) not like the gauge cluster bulbs that come out and can be replaced with some from the local auto store.
ill try and post a pic as soon as i can find where i put the camara

I know what you are talking about. You can't separate the bulb from the housing.
You need to get it from the dealer or off another car. It is Item #1. You can see the part number for the bulb you need.
