Default Civic climate control lighting question

So does anyone know if the temp and fan control *****/levers, are supposed to be lit up on a 92-95 civic? I see that it has a clear piece that looks like it should be lit, but I've replaced the bulbs and so far no luck, they are still not lighting up. Can anyone confirm? Thanks.

I think Honda or the company that designed that part dropped the ball. What is supposed to happen (but it doesn't):
There are 2 bulbs that light up the majority of the climate control. Some of the light from these bulbs is supposed to be directed down through a clear plastic piece, then directed along a clear plastic piece on the very back of each of the control *****. Then finally, come forward and be emitted at the front of the *****.

You can open up the climate control and really clean down the tracks where the clear plastic pieces meet and then you'll get a very very little bit of light to the **** but it's way too hard to see.

So, yes, it was designed to light up, but it doesn't.

What danomatic93 said. However, when I took the blue condoms off the bulbs and lined the inside of the face with amber plastic sheeting, the ***** lit up a little more. The blue sleeve cuts out a lot of the ambient light. They don't light brightly, mind you, but they do light up.

Been there, done that. Don't do LEDs...they'll look like @ss in there. They don't have the light spread that is required to light up the whole console properly.
