As the title says I want to find out where the O2 bung should be at for a DC 4-2-1 header. I have a stock d16a6 that is still OBD-O( single wire sensor). I have been told that it should be back in the collector and others tell me to put it where the header is two pipes.

My old sensor was back in the collector but that bung stripped so I have to get a new bung welded in. The exhaust shop guy thinks that if I put the new bung in the collector that he will have to put the new bung on the side(parallel to the ground) because of space issues.

 

i have a sohc zc with a dc 4-2-1 header and my o2 bung is at the back of the collector on the top so the wire points upwards. I have no space issues though i will admit it is close to the axle but not too close.

Since my old bung is in this spot there is not enough room for another bung to be back by the collector. The wire would probably be hitting the axle so that is why my exhaust guy wants to but the sensor on the side.
