Default alternator wiring

hey everybody

im in the process of retro fitting a 92 accord alternator to a 69 vw. the alternator is from a junkyard and didn't come with the pigtail. I was hoping someone here could tell me which spade connectors correspond to which connection. for example, i know on the older alternators there were three prongs on the pigtail, one labeled "L" one "ig" and the other "D". however mine has 4 prongs, and none of them are labeled so i dont know which ones are which! could anyone tell me which prongs are which and possibly tell me what the fourth one is for? dont worry about the top post on the alt, i already have that part wired up.

I couldn't find what all the terminals for the Denso Alternator with the 4-P connector are. This is what I believe at least these 3 terminals are. Maybe some else can chime in. Otherwise, you can also try the VW forums, since they seem to use Denso alternators for their VW builds, and may have encounter this already. Another suggestion, is to call an alternator rebuild shop.

thank you! that does help somewhat, it certainly solidifies my pre-existing notion that the L and Ig prongs are next to each other. does anyone happen to know which two those are though in relation to either the plastic housing or the top B post on the alt? meaning for example, the two bottom, or two top, or two left, anything like that?

many thanks in advance

can anyone definitvely tell me what these prongs all are? iv been running it and it seems to be working, but i only have my alternator idiot light working half the time (its supposed to come on when i turn the key to the accessory position)

if anyone could tell me what each prong is in relation to the bat. post on top or to the plastic housing that would be awsome

the missing one to that diagram is B i believe and it runs to the battery via the under hood fuse box.

L for Lamp, IG for Ignition switch protected by fuse 2, 15amp. C goes to computer then back out to ELD, and B (recharge wire) goes to battery protected by large fuse #15. FR goes to computer.

1=C
2=IG
3=L

Connector with push tab at 12o'clock, I could not tell if front view or rear view. This looks similar (pin config) to the pic that tech8 posted.
1.......2
3.......4

I looked in two good resources, this is all I could find. I am not sure that you should use a four wire alternator from a Honda since you do not have an ELD unit and it is not computer controlled on your car.
