Default Stalling problem on '99 4cyl VTECH

99 Accord 4cyl Vtech 5spd

So here's whats happening... the car starts and runs perfect most of the time... but sometimes (more often lately) when I pull up to a light or a stop sign and push the clutch in the RPMs will just drop all the way down and the engine will die. I can start it right back up no problem and be on my way. If I rev it high then let go then the RPM's will drop fast, almost die, then run at a real low idle. What's the deal?

Now just so you know my Speedometer is also not working, Check Engine light is on and the code comes back with 'Check Vehicle Speed Sensor'. Now I know a little about this (I had to replace mine in my '96 Accord) but it's different in this engine right? Would this cause the low idle?

Thanks very much... this has been really buggin me lately and I don't have the funds to take it to someone.

there's a recall on the ign switch...check with the dealership to see if yours has been done.

The dealership told me there are 2 separate sensors on this trans? Any info on these? Should I even be looking at the VSS for the idle problem?

An easy adjustment you can do is to raise the idle RPM by turning the IAV located on the throttle body. It sounds like you have a different problem but a low idle should be fixed first to rule out the simple causes.

have that same problem.....looks like its a sensor problem...I have a auto and after pulling the code it says that the 2nd clutch pressure switch failed. Look at the post helms manual for 98 accord below for more info
