Default just bought a crx.. did i get a good deal?

i dont know **** about hondas really, just that i like beating up on them in my other car ..but i was looking for a fun 5 speed daily driver that got good gas mileage, and this crx popped up so i picked it up

its a 91 si with 217,000 miles on it. very little rust, just a little of that rear wheel well rot that all old hondas seem to have around here. it runs like a champ, shifts good, everything works.. i paid 500 bucks for it

what is the average selling price for a crx like this? it has h&r springs on it and some kind of short shifter, but other than that seems to be stock. no rear interior

i have a 14b and most of the stuff id need to turbo it just laying around, so that might be happening soon lol.. dont know how much a 217k mile motor will like the boost though

500 yea that's a good deal.

Really how good a deal is will varry from person to person and in area but most everyone will agree a nice running crx in good shape for 500 isn't bad at all.

Enjoy it

$500 I wish I could get a crx for that much.
it has kind of a lot of miles to throw a turbo on it., i wouldnt do it unless you just don't care and dont mind dropping in another motor in down the road. I say nice find though for $500

cool.. 500 bucks for any car that runs as nice as this one does is a good deal as far as i am concerned, i was just wondering if maybe i didnt get a pretty nice steal on this one because i know crx's are popular in the honda world

the one i bought is kind of like the ***** car for my local group of car people.. i think im the 8th owner between us all lol.. people buy it from each other when someones main car goes down or they need something for the winter. i plan on keeping it though, im a fan of tiny little **** boxes and this one seems like its got a whole lot of life left in it.

i guess since im posting in here, i should ask about an issue it has... does anyone know what the easiest way to get the door pins out of it is? the bushing is worn on the drivers door and it droops a bit.. im planning on taking a set of bushings off of the rear of a 4 door civic sitting at the junkyard and swapping them, but ive never had to pull the door off of something before and it looks like a tight fit to get tools in there

also, the drivers side window is kind of a bitch to roll up, and it doesnt line up right at the top, it rolls up on the outside of the weatherstripping.. on the cars im used to there is a very similar problem and its caused by a little plastic clip on the window track in the door panel snapping off.. is that a common problem on these cars as well? is there a cheap fix?

a) Its only a shitbox if you leave it like that.

b) the window regulators get bent when theres a break-in/theft on the car which is what happened sometime in its past. if you pull apart the door you can try to un-bend the regulators. you could also order a new assembly from the dealer. junkyards are an option too.

nah its just a shitbox period... have you seen a crx? lol

this one has had some pretty obnoxious ricing done to it in the past.. the valve cover is neon green for some god awful reason, it had a gigantic tach mounted to the dash because apparently someone thought the stock one wasnt gaudy enough, it had some indiglo type gauges.. peeling tint.. all that stuff has been taken care of. i just want a nice daily driver out of it.

if anyone has a crx center console or entire rear interior (i dont even know what is supposed to go back there.. storage bins like an rx7? a wall? i have no clue) i am in the market. i have a gigantic tach and some very ricey indiglo gauge covers for trade :D

here is a pic of my real love... another shitbox.. just an american one.. its a bit faster than the crx
