are all d-series axles the same?

I have a set of 88-91 axles and I wanted to put them in a car I was working on (94 civic dx) and they are too short! So no, they won't fit

All d-series HYRDO axles are the same.
so basically 92-00 axles as far as civics go.
1993 da d-series axles will not work.

Correct. Also same for manual and automatic. Same axles.

yes the hf's have smaller splines which is why you need to convert your knuckles to si/lx/dx etc. when doing a b series swap in a 4th gen that is an HF
