Default Eww...Ground control and Tokico HP's...Someone help me out here Please

first off, whats up, first time I have posted in the EF section, Im usually lurking around the Integra Forums....

Anyway I bought a 1991 Crx today for a good price, Pretty much going to make it a daily driver car while being able to Auto-X It.

Well the Crx came with Ground control coilovers and Tokico HP (the blue ones)...Anyway All I have to say is, ITS WACKED...

Im sorry but I had Tein RA's on my mr2, Nuespeed race/koni 5 way on my prelude, and a bunch of other setups...Well this setup is retarded, I played with the height a bit and no dice, still rides like ****, I cant beileve how bouncy it is, I feel like I have cut springs or somthing... My guess would be its the GC's? I have ran the Tokico HP's before and they were very decent...So do these GC's just suck...?

I tried taking the CRX through some nice twisties where I almost kill myself in my mr2 everyday, and the Car was litterally bouncing in and out of the apex hahah it was terrible, anyway Anyone else not liking the GC's? or is just me? Thanks for any help guys

If it's bouncy as hell, it's the dampers, not the GC's. Heck, GC only makes the sleeve, so they really have nothing to do with it. If it's a GC "kit," it will have Eibach springs, and it sounds like they're overpowering the dampers. Look at the springs, and if they're Eibach's they'll tell you the spring rate (even if they're something else, you may see the spring rate printed on them). Use that rate to determine what dampers you need to control them. It should be a cheap fix compared to a whole new suspension.

That's certainly high enough to overpower worn dampers. You could swap the springs front/back and replace the dampers and have a fine setup. Or you could keep the 450s in the front and replace the rears with 500-600 (close to what I have). The first option is a good street setup, while the second is a good race setup.

If those indeed are the correct rates, then the car should be stiff as hell. Swaping the springs front to rear will help. Some Koni's would work much better. I run 400# front and 450# rear GC's in my CRX with Koni SA's. The ride is stiff as hell but I only use the car for autocross.

Tokico HPs are good for mild lowering springs and stock springs, but not for a lowered GC kit.

Get rid of the HPs and get some different shocks before you kill yourself.

Echo that!

Tokico blues suck ***, while G/Cs are one of the best coil-over sleeve kits out there IMO.

I had tokico hp with gc and they suck. Tokico hp's suck. I went with AGX adjustable which is stiffer than hp's and works for me cool. Can't compare coilovers on aftermarket shocks with TEIN or full threaded suspension. Of course full threaded will rock the house, you pay the price. Get a bigger spring rate and adjustable shocks to help it out, otherwise get full threaded. Ground Control makes Advance Design.

You also can't compare car suspension on your mr2 with a civic. There different everywhere. On hondas, Between 91 cars and down, and 92 and up. 92 and up suspension you can dump the **** out of them and they won't bottom out as bad as older generations. I dump it as low as my friends 92, and it'll bounce way more than him.If you have a CRX the ride will be different because the shock length throw is shorter than 92 and up cars, so it's more bouncier. When the shock gets pressed down, the energy is absorbed, but on the throw back up, that where we feel all the bouncy. Hmnm, not sure if I make sense, i'm not good at explaining, haha.
