... the reason im asking is b/c i am in the process of buying a set of aftermarket seats and would like to know if there are specifics i should look for asides looks/support/price/the obvious things

I would think they are certified to whatever extent any other manufacturer has.
Since the pads and frames of the seats are the same as LS/GSR, I don't think they are any better than those seats as far as support goes, etc.

I'd think the only certification they would have to live up too would be the DOT crash standards. FIA would look at our seats and laugh.

What do you have in mind certification wise?
I'm not aware of anyone ever indicating FIA approval for JDM or any other ITR seats, aftermarket is a different story.
