Default eliminating wheel hop

im trying to eliminate the wheel hop off the start and i was looking into getting the full race traction bars. from what i have been searching, i should just get better motor mounts (hasports) and that will help better than traction bars. should i get one or the other? or both?

for those who think i should get the traction bars, should i get the proam ones or the regular prostreet ones? the diff is the proam one is $50 more and has an addictional motor mount to prevent motor and tranny movement and the prostreet does not.

is this true? anyone have experience with traction bars that can help me?

thanks

here is a link to the traction bars:

It's easy dude, try the motor mounts, if you still get wheel hop, get the traction bars. SIMPLE... Jesus.

Learn how to drive before the above.

wheel hop can also be caused by alignment issues and clutch engagement.

ETD traction bars have been working great for me and much cheaper than FR bars.

that would be one way

another way would be more sticky tires, but if you can drive better you can avoid wheelhop

I would start with the Energy Suspension Torque mount inserts(engine vibration increases somewhat). They help a lot. I would then get the Prothane engine mount inserts. If your stock mounts are fine, done get aftermarket, save the money and get the inserts.

The pro-am bars would help a lot too. Get the pro-am beacause you get the added feature of the third link to the block, and has a quick release pin, so when your on the street u can remove it easy (A lot of vibration, with 3rd link on)

Easiest way to avoid wheel hop is slicks, or a tall side wall tire(50-60)

O yeah stiffer front springs, and adjustable shocks to make very stiff at track.

I have experience with both the Full-Race traction bar AND motor mounts. From my experience, it is safe to say that both items made a noticable difference in that 1) Wheel hop was non existant
2) The R felt 'peppier' and more responsive to throttle imput. Especially off the line.
3) Since vibration is not lost through sloppy and/or soft mounts, it becomes more prominent in the steering wheel, which I felt, was good feedback as it gave me a slightly more detailed feel of what was going on so-to-speak.

I had both the traction bar and motor mounts in an at various builds such as stock, built N/A and built turbo. I felt the difference in all three setups.

I have not tried the traction bar with the added stabilizer, but if that was an option for me at the time, I would have sprung for that one. Cheers

I've had the Prothane inserts for quite some time now. When I first installed them, I cranked the car and said OMG what have I done??!!! The vibration is much worse on cold start up and only @ idle or if you lug the motor. Once the motor revs byond 1200 to 1500 RPM's it's really a good feel. Vibration lessens and as someone else said,...the car feels much more throttle responsive.
But to answer your question,.....yes the inserts help alot w/ launching the car and wheel hop. I'll never go back to the stockers!
