I currently own a 04 Accord LX 2.4L.
Does anyone know what the best mod to do for under $1,000. Besides intake and exhaust. I heard you can put a RSX-S head on the block, or you can use the same computer chip. Does anyone know if its ture??

the whole idea behind any exhaust system is to make it flow better. when you reduce the back pressure, the motor doesn't have to work as hard to push out the exhaust, thus the increase at higher rpms. really though to make good hp, you got to put it on the intake side, so i would look into the intake plenum, and throttle body.

You can swap it out for a TSX intake manifold which helps a lot, and headers also help too. You should invest in a set of Unorthodox pulleys as well, they go for around 250-300 bucks depending where you get them from and are relatively easy to install, unlike a header which require power tools and a lift. Exhaust and intake are good also, and after all of this, you should see gains of 20whp, and if you buy them from the right places, could get it for 1500 bucks.
TSX IM from Acura = $140 + employee discount
Ceramic DC header = 300ish
CAI/SRI = 170ish
Exhaust = 350 (if you get piping done separately)
Pulleys = 300
I'm not including labor or install costs if you aren't doing it yourself (well I included exhaust labor) and I got my TSX IM from a friend who works at Acura so I don't know how much one costs new.

If you're talking about the Hondata reflash, then no, it wont work.
The only thing that will work right now, is Apexi VAFC which is your standard Air/Fuel adjuster, for cheap. Greddy E-manage, which essentially does the same thing and a bit more for a bit more. Haltech adaptions, and Hondata K-pro, which my car is the only one in the states currently being run on it (besides the original maker, whose car isn't done yet).
