eagle crank or brian crower crank?
hey guys i need ur opinions on this. im looking to run a 95mm crank in my b18c1 block and i was wondering which would be a better option. the motor is gonna be high comp n/a. eagle makes a 95mm crank but theres nothing special about it and brian crower also makes a 95mm crank but alos offers it in a light weight version. which would u choose regardless of price. has anyone ever used one of these?

I KNOW this doesn't answer your question, BUT....
Eagle ALSO makes a Lightweight version of the 95mm crankshaft.

What about Scat? I have a Pro comp. 92mm going into my rebuild and it looks to be a high quality piece. I have used a Crower, and this one looks better than it, and the Scat is also a good bit lighter.
thats another option lol i didnt even know scat made a crank but now i do. thanx man. im going for i very high comp bottom end but i also want to keep engine assembly meaning rods pistons and crank as light as possible. its always good for an n/a setup to have less rotating mass. same theory as adding a lightweight flywheel to ur motor.

i've also asked that question before.. and basically from the responses i got a 95mm crank is not recommended for daily driving unless your willing to take your motor apart often to change out your rod bearings since the crank puts alot of stress on them.. Im thinking if i get one it'd be a 92mm for street. unless ur building for the strip i would reconsider.

thats the kind of info im looking for. thanx man. yea its gonna be a street build but it will see alot of track time. i was interested in the 95mm cause i wanna get as much displacement out of the block as i can but if its not gonna be reliable than im not gonna go with the 95mm. if i go with a 92mm stroke and an 85mm bore what would that put me at displacement wise?

That would be 2088cc, which is what my setup is. The problem with longer stroke is increased side loading on the cylinder walls and piston skirts, so do not expect a 95mm stroke motor to last as long as a shorter stroke motor before needing a rebuild and a rehone. It might be wise to start with a 84.5mm bore, to have room for a refresh later on. Going past 85mm bore on a street motor is not recommended as you may run into headgasket problems.
back from the dead. you guys do realize that the B20 found in the 89-91 preludes was 95mm dont you. all this BS about a 95 being unreliable is just that BS. sure it puts more side loading on the motor but just street driving it shouldnt be bad. its not going to rev to the moon like a stock stroke crank would but with lots of track time it will need rehoned eventually. just keep up good maintenance on it and you will be fine.
