FS: H2B swap JDM H22a type S motor, B16 tranny
Any pictures? Does the motor include the intake manifold, throttle body, exhaust manifold, fuel rail & injectors, starter, engine harness, sensors (nothing broken)?

ok, from what i was told, the engraved serial #s on the block corresponds w/ the type of motor it is based on the year of the production date. I was told that any # starting w/ a 3xxxxxxx on it was a 97-98 Type S version motor on it. I am trying to verify this information. But i also have a reciept from the place i bought this motor from as well if you need proof of purchase.
On the head, it has the stamping 96 w/ the arrow pointing to the 9 which tells me that this motor was produced in late 96 which also makes this a 97 H22 motor. I do not believe that the block and head have ever been separated but im not that far of an expert either.

type s motors had red valve covers and
THe s-spec motor will have a red top and the oil filter will be straight out on the back of the block. A type S red top but oil filter will be angled up. They are both going to have H22a as a engine code though. The type s and SH are the only ones with the oil fitler angled. So if it isn't angeled and red top then most likely it will be a S-spec motor.
Hope that helped you out. That is the easiest way to tell the difference just by looking at it.
