Default h23 trany

has any one ever built a h23 trany? i'm rebuilding mine when i do the motor and want lsd, i've heard bad things about phantom grips and good about (quafe, not sure on spelling sorry) any one who knows these tranys have any other suggestions that may help in bettering the performance of the trany?

Yeah, Quaife makes good LSDs....and another thing you could do for performance (tranny wise) is a different final drive. It will kinda pull your power band down, so to speak, where you have better acceleration but a lower top speed.

I don't know what else people do to H trannies. I have always wanted to do an H2D tranny conversion but it would be a lot of work....

what is the diff between the final drive in h22 and h23 trans. would it be worth it to stick an h22 final drive in an h23?

Here's the gear ratios:

This is a good aftermarket option: https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1927177

Yessir, I am.. But the D-tranny is also less rotating mass

really loooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooong gears though... even the si has longer gears than the h23 trans. but your having traction issues anyway right?? so it might be a good thing

I did not know that, but with different final drive options and such there should be an advantage/gain with a D-tranny in there somewhere...longer gearing won't be too bad for a turbo setup though. I am having traction issues but I don't have the best tires either

Bisimoto runs 9's with an NA F2D so there must be something to it. Not saying I will ever achieve that, but......
