Default Anyone rebuilt thier F22 Transmissions?

Just wondering if anyone has attempted to do themselves or had their trannies rebuilt?

I called the local transmission place and they could not even quote me a price on a rebuild!! They said that manual transmissions are tougher and more expensive to build than automatics. (Which makes absolutely NO sense to me)

I'm just looking for a round about, ball park figure as to what I would pay to have this service done, opposed to doing myself.

if you know how to do it, i wouldn't expect it to be that hard.. i don't see how it could be. People rebuild civic trannys all the time, i dk how close they are but i wouldn't think it'd be that different.

also, call somewhere else. They either don't know how to do imports, don't like imports, or are too busy.

Yea, I've been looking at all sorts of posts and write up all across the net on the Civic tranny rebuilds, and it doesn't look to be that bad at all.

I was just hoping to hear from someone that has had this done at a shop and to see what they paid, so I'll know what to expect.

If you end up saving hundreds and hundred of dollars on it, then I will def. do it myself. But, if I would only end up saving a couple of hundred, then I would just take it in.

Imagine how much you could buy with what you save. Not to mention the fun and learning experience.

I assume it will cost you an arm and possible a leg! You might just pick up a used prelude tranny, ive been told it has better ratios anyway. Unless you prefer the longer ratio. Late
