Default walboro 190 fuel pump problem

i have had my fuel pump installed on my car for about 2 1/2 years. on the way back from the honda-tech meet my car started acting up and missing when i would hit boost like i was out of gas. i finally got around to messing with the car yesterday. found out that my strainer fell off of the fuel pump how do i make sure that this doesn't happen again?
