For optimum (or actually, perfect) performance, get an OBD-I ECU, and have a socket soldered into it, and pop a chip with a Y7 basemap into it.
It'll act like a Y7 ECU but OBD-I

You can buy an OBD-I to OBD-II conversion harness and plug the Y7 ECU into it.

Do what he said. Get a P28, chip it, and put a Y7 bin on it. It'll run as if it was still OBD2, except it won't be. It'll be perfect.
