Default 00 civic ex turbo

i know this might be a noob question but i just have to know. im running hondata s100 w/ b and the setting is for 440cc with the base map settings. my tuner can't tune it cuzz he doesn't have the code. i don't know what code, some kind of code to log into hondata tuner program i think. but my question is, is it ok to run my car just for a little while on my turbo ex on 450cc with the p28 at basemap including 440cc settings in hondata. untuned p28.

Depends how you define "little while" - I wouldn't, and I certainly wouldn't let that turbo spool up .

as long as that turbo never sees spool (which will be hard, try getting onto an onramp in a hurry without spoolin that thing up) you should be fine

Actually if I were him I'd disconnect the charge pipe so boost doesn't reach the motor.

Then it shouldn't matter as long as you're running 440 injectors and the Hondata is tuned for 440's. You can fine tune it when you get it to a dyno and that's where you can put the charge pipe back on too.

It shouldn't if your coolant lines are connected properly and your wastegate is fully operational.

Are you using an internal gate or an external gate?

my coolant lines are fine. i never touched it in my turbo setup. i left it alone for now. but also about my wastegate. it won't open for some reason. its suppose to be a 6 or 7psi but it goes to 9 and 10. they say its the spring but im still not sure. before i brought it to the shop i installed the turbo and just ran it for like 2 months till i got time to get it tune. didnt run shitty either other than at high *** rpm, white smoke comes out. lol

White smoke eh? You probably smoked a gasket running it untuned.

If it's an external gate and it's supposed to be 6 or 7 and it's running 9 or 10 then it's definitely your spring.

If you're using an external gate it shouldn't be spiking....well it shouldn't be spiking ever, but spikes 9 times outta 10 are with internal gates, not external.

I'd get that spring checked, see where you r from there.

yea i know it wasn't good but i still drove it and everything was fine. i just got it back from the shop and 450's are in and p28 hondata is in but its not tuned on the dyno yet cuzz they don't have the code for hondata program to tune. reved it up and everything seems fine but i just don't wanna blow it.

What do you mean it's not opening? If it's not opening it'll keep climbing - it won't stop at 9 or 10 psi unless you're hitting 9/10 psi boost peak at your redline.

Eh, yeah...for a performance (power) turbo it would.

Though for an economy turbo like that S20 or whatever on the 1.8T Jettas it's kinda normal.

internal gate is not worth it, invest in a t3 flanged external gate setup, that gives you more posibilities

my guess if the waste gate is still functional the previous onwer installed a longer vacumn line to get it to a lsightly higher psi like that, go ahead and get a smaller line or cut the line it should see 7 again
