Default Setting Vtec?

What RPM do you guys set your vtec to kick in at in a lsvtec and b20vtec motor?
Most of my friend like it at 5000RPM. What do you guys suggest?

Depends what cams and manifold you're using.

The only real way to set it to the smoothest transition is on a dyno man. Every motor will be different.

You can get it close from copying someone else with a similar setup but it probably won't be dead on.
