Default going to degree in cams, a quick question?

i am currently running sk2 stg2 cams, the original ones, not pro series... i plan to degree in the cams according to skunk2's methods, as seen here http://www.skunk2.com/camshaft_tech.php . I am currently using stock gears, but i will be purchasing a good quality set of gears, either Sk2, BDL, BuddyClub, etc.... It's running good with stock gears, but of course, the idle is compromised and is pretty lopey...will degreeing in the cams affect my valve 2 valve clearance or piston 2 valve clearance.. I'm assuming it will, of course..but i don't want to have any valves hitting valves or pistons? i will still be safe, right? and that will help my lopey idle out too, and smooth it out somewhat as well? help will be appreciated alot. motor is a b18c w/ stock 10.6:1 C/R..

thanks.

s2s2 cams should not have a "lopey" idle. something else is amiss

hmm. it's a little lopey enough that someone know's something is up. but not extremely crazy. you've had some you used before,..and they werent lopey at all?

By degreeing do you mean just moving the pulleys? Or actually checking the lope ctr.?

just adjusting the gears to the correct degree. using the method stated in the link in my opening post.. so that everything functions perfect. I'm hoping that that will help smooth out my idle, and should give more power output as well...
