Default B16ers I have a question for you

I just dropped my B16a into my car a couple of days ago. Tomarrow, I am going to the wiring. Due to the fact that I have a DX wiring harness that I am going to convert, is it necessary to have the injector resistor box?

It seems like the way HASPORT describes it I can wire it with out the box. Can any one cnfirm this for me?

This is the link to the wiring http://www.hasport.com/88-91dx_sir.htm

Check out the paragraphs at the bottom of that page.

THANKS

I also believe that I need this resistor box, but I dont have one. This is what HASPORT says about their wiring diagram.

* When switching to port injection, an injector resistor box need to be wired in also becuase of the different style injectors now used.

** Another way to do this wiring would be to move the existing wires at C1 and C2 to the cylinder sensor (blue/green and blue/yellow) and run two new wires from B10 and B12 to crank position sensor (orange and white).

I am not sure if this 2nd paragraph means, or even has any thing to do wotht the injector resistor box.

It just sounds like to me that I can do either or.

Any more suggestions????????

What is average price a junk yard would charge for a injector resistor box?

"* When switching to port injection, an injector resistor box need to be wired in also becuase of the different style injectors now used."

The injector resistor box supplies power to the four injectors. There is one power wire going in (yellow) and four powers going out (red with black stripe). The injector resistor box is really just a resistor that steps down the voltage for the low impedance injector. So, yes you do have to have this box.

"** Another way to do this wiring would be to move the existing wires at C1 and C2 to the cylinder sensor (blue/green and blue/yellow) and run two new wires from B10 and B12 to crank position sensor (orange and white)."

This paragraph has nothing to do with the injector resistor box. It has to do with wiring the cylinder sensor (which is in the distributor) and the crank position sensor. Do it the first way that hasport recommends. Any other questions, just IM me. I just did one of these swaps.

Thanks for the info. ..........I'm off to the junk yard to hopefully get me one of these. They are silver and sit near/on the strut tower area right?
