Damn that seems a little high but I don't know much about the 5th gen market... Never interested me. The car looks super clean though and with mid 40k mileage range, that beast will run forever. Very nice car but:
Kelly blue book value
excellent condition=14900 good condition=14100)
Private party sales almost ALWAYS go for lower than KBB values due to the fact that you're taking a man at his word on the transaction, and it isn't coming from a reputable dealer. Just ballpark, what I'd expect to pay on a vehicle with a $14,000 good condition KBB value would be ~$12,000-13,000 depending how perfectly the test drive went, the condition of the interior, and the seller (I'd obviously pay more to buy it from a 35-40 year old man than a 20 year old who got it for his 16th birthday).
Nice ride though
*This is my opinion. If 5th Gens, especially clean ones, are rare in your area then this price might not be as bad. I'm just speaking on my experience of private party auto buying/selling. Goodluck!
EDIT: Didn't notice it was an auto the first time I read it. I wouldn't pay anywhere NEAR that price for an auto. Maybe $9-10grand and use the rest to get a professional Auto-->Manual conversion.

I wouldn't pay more then 8K for it
but then again when I see the car has a air intake listed and then right under it the ad states "never been modified" I don't usually trust the sell all that much.

I would agree with DCxMagus about the seller. He has 15-16" light weight wheels, a cold air intake, and says its been babied. BS! He has not done a lot to really screw stuff up but enough that I would really have to sit in the car and see if the gears work at high RPM's (smooth). It is a nice car but if I saw wheels and a cold air intake I would actually go down on price because then I know he has showed off. Also check the tires see if he actually "babied" it, max I would go is $13000. If he takes you for a ride ask him what it has from 1st, 2nd, 3rd. That is where you will hear grinding, listed hard. If he is smart he wont let you drive hitting 6 grand between gears. Good luck man take your time on this car.

well not all ludes came w/ black interior, theres tan. but its not rare by any means. and i agree on the moddedness vs. babied. why would u mod it if ur not gonna use it. i say find a manual heres my reasons!
1) retain your *********
2)itll last longer if u take care of it
3)more responsive/faster/better control
4)thats expansive
5)why buy a promblem waiting to happen!
5spd ftw. SH or base are both good.

the only thing thats really rare about the black interior is that its leather...but i think that year had more of the models come with leather cuz a friend of mine had it as well on his auto...

The rare part about this car is its blue paint and its leather black interior besides that you could grab any Auto on ebay or craigslist for much less. No true racer uses an auto. I don't know about you but when I go to a car show and see a sick car and then look in the driver side and see a auto I instantly think "well now I don't like this car" just because of that. If you want an auto don’t buy this one there are many more less expensive ones out there.
Good luck man, if you find another post it here we will give you an honest answer. That white prelude with 60,000 miles sounds like a lot better deal, is it stock??
