Default Help Identify Cams D16A / DOHC ZC

I'm sorry if this doesn't belong here, but I searched quite a long time on H-T and Google, and found nothing. Well, my friend pulled some cams from an '87 Integra the other day. He noticed the valve cover was a JDM cover, but couldn't find the engine stamp, so he's not sure if the cams are from a DOHC D16A or brown top DOHC ZC. Here's the pics he sent me:

If more pics need to be specifically provided, then I will have him take more pics.

Yes, I knew that already, but he didn't. He already pulled the cams from a junkyard Integra, so I don't think he'll be going back there to check. Thanks for trying to helping though.

Mine as well. Was he 100% on it being a JDM valve cover? It may just have been super dirty.

i have a set of 89 D16A1 cams and they both say R2 on them - probably doesn't mean anything, as i believe the 87 had different cams from the 89 - just thought i would throw that out there - i used to have a set of "browntop" JDM DOHC ZC cams, but sold them to some guy with an Integra - should have taken a picture

do what every person, who has a shred of mechanical sense. Go have the cam spec'ed. Any cam shop will do it. Even if it is a stock came (be it jdm or not) it looks used, and the spec's on the cam could be worn already. There is no way to know for sure unless you have the CAM CARD with cam grinding specs (Lift, duration ect.). Just go get it spec'ed and find out. It is a very common thing to do, having a cam spec'ed.
